“It’s important to note that “diversity” is one of the FBI’s core values,” explains Christina Garza, Public Affairs and Community Outreach Coordinator for the
FBI Houston Field Office. “It was added by Director James B. Comey who is a big advocate of diversifying the bureau, in all aspects.”

The LGBT Program launched under the direction of Comey, was established to address employee diversity issues or concerns relating to sexual orientation at the FBI. Among one of the programs goals is to enhance career development opportunities for LGBTQ+ employees of the FBI, while being able to better educate all employees on sexual orientation issues as well as other diversity matters.

The Honors Internship Program is one of the most competitive internship programs in the nation. An FBI Internship opportunity offers undergraduate and graduate school students throughout the United States an exciting insider’s view of FBI operations, and provides an opportunity to explore the many career opportunities within the FBI.

UT Students Protest Campus Open Carry Law By Carrying Dildos

UT Students Protest Campus Open Carry Law By Carrying Dildos

University Of Texas Students Protesting Texas Law Known As “Campus Carry”  By Highlighting What You Can’t Carry: A Harmless Dildo.

Texas law known as S.B. 11, passed by a Republican led legislature and signed into law by the amazing Texas governor Greg Abbott, has went into effect, as of August 1, 2016. 3,500+ students at the University of Texas signed up to carry around dildos on their backpacks in protest of the new law.

Here’s an excerpt from the protest’s #CocksNotGlocks Facebook page: “Starting on the first day of Long Session classes on August 24, 2016, we are strapping gigantic swinging dildos to our backpacks in protest of campus carry.

Anyone can participate in solidarity: alum, non-UT students, people outside of Texas. Come one dildo, come all dildos.“You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO.” Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play.

Protest organizer Jessica Lin, has pointed out a Texas law which states that anyone displaying or distributing “obscene” materials (such as a dildo) in public can be issued a $500 fine. A law she thinks is hypocritical:

“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence.“You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class.

“Heaven forbid the penis.”

Houston Police say they’re after some brazen thieves who targeted an LGBTQ+ bar and popular restaurant early Monday morning. Both locations, a few blocks a part, and incidents two hours a part.

The thieves were described by Houston Police as ‘two black males’, that shattered the front door of The Ripcord; located in the 700 block of Fairview St  at 6:07AM according to the clubs camera systems.

1-About-magazine-ripcord-768x1024 BAR AND RESTAURANT IN MONTROSE TARGETED WITH EARLY MORNING BREAK INS“They broke the front glass door to gain entry to the bar,” bar owner Brad Spratt told About News. “They attempted to open the register cash drawers, then smashed them. They kicked in our office door…” Spratt explained.

Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva  explained the suspects “attempted to load a safe into their late model white suburban. A witness on a bike witnessed the break in and was able to call HPD.” The suspects traveled down Hyde Park Blvd heading eastbound.

Houston Police arrived to find the club’s safe left in the middle of Crocker St. The robbers were not able to load the safe, nor gain access to it. “HPD does have video surveillance, and are reviewing it…” Silva added.

In another incident in the 2600 block of Grant St, just a few blocks away from the Ripcord, Baba Yegas restaurant  became the victim of an attempted break in. Houston Police are not ruling out the two cases are connected.

“The front door had been smashed, and the glass was broken,” Silva stated. “The manager arrived and found the damage. There appears to be no evidence that anyone entered the location. But again we do have video surveillance and are reviewing it.” HPD is calling this  criminal mischief.
