“Hey Qween!” Returns With Brand New Episodes

Hey Qween!, the world’s gayest talk show of all time, is getting a face-lift this winter.  When the show returns for its fourth season next month, it will debut a sexy new look and sound.  For three hilarious seasons, comedian Jonny McGovern and his co-host Lady Red Couture have welcomed many of the countries top LGBT and drag talent − including RuPaul, Laganga Estranja, and Candis Cayne − to their couch.  On February 15th, Hey Qween! launches its fourth raucous season on

Hey Qween! is a place for gay stars and underground legends to come and tell their stories in a way they can’t on any other talk show,” explains host and executive producer, Jonny McGovern.  “We cut up, have a kiki and a gay ‘ol time.  Then, at the end of every show, the special guest gets a trophy and a lap dance from one of our in-house strippers!  It’s a half hour of pure merriment.”

“You don’t have to be gay to be on Hey Qween!,’ he adds.  “Just gay friendly and ready for fun.”

Lots of changes are in store for the upcoming season of Hey Qween! including a brand new set and the addition of a regular cast member.  Billboard charting vocalist Adam Joseph joins the gang as bandleader of “Adam Joseph and The Go To Bed Wigs”.

“For years our show has been called The Tonight Show if Johnny Carson was a big gay lumberjack and Ed McMahon was the largest drag queen in captivity,” continues McGovern.  “Now we got a glittery twink version of Doc Severinsen.”

Adam Joseph has a long association with Jonny McGovern.  He is the voice of the Hey Qween! theme song and the music producer behind all of McGovern’s albums.  The addition of a bandleader will mean more music parodies and comedy to the show.  Also new will be a series of “Drag Besties” episodes, kicking off with Detox and Vicky Vox of the Drag supergroup DWV.

Fan-favorite segments returning this season are “Betta As a Bitch Track”, where the show trolls the trolls, turning real life negative comments from the Internet into over-the-top “bitch tracks” and the “Look At Huh!” game, where guests share their personal stories of celebrities.

Jonny “The Gay Pimp” McGovern’s career began in 2003 with Dirty Gay Hits, a collection of hilarious gay themed songs.  The video release of “Soccer Practice” from the album received over three million downloads and was added to rotation on MTV Europe and MTV Asia, making Jonny an international phenomenon. Soon, he was appearing all over the airwaves, on The Ricky Lake Show, VH1’s Best Week Ever, Comedy Central’s Out on the Edge, and more. Jonny eventually caught the eye of Rosie O’Donnell, who cast him as a lead player on her LOGO-TV comedy show, The Big Gay Sketch Show.

“Working with Jonny is one of the joys of my life,” says Lady Red Couture from the Hey Qween! set in Hollywood.  “He’s so sweet.  I’ll never forget when RuPaul came to visit and we were filming the opening banter and I messed up. So Jonny says, ‘Don’t be nervous because RuPaul is here.’ Then RuPaul says, ‘DO be nervous because RuPaul is here!’ Oh, I wet myself laughing!”

“We’ve become the best of friends making Hey Qween!“ reflects Jonny McGovern of his relationship with Lady Red Couture. “She’s such a quick wit and naturally funny.  People think that because I’m executive producer of the show, I also direct her.  You don’t ever make Lady Red do anything. If she’s eating on the show, its cause the bitch wants a snack!  I just let Lady Red be herself and that’s more than enough.”

Hey Qween! has been so successful for, the online network launched the show as its own YouTube channel and has plans to launch a stand-alone website.

The show has also spawned several spin-offs, including the Look At Huh! aftershow that began airing last spring.  In March, will begin airing the second seasons of:  Judge Lady Red, a court show with Lady Red presiding over the disputes of young queens and deciding whether it’s ‘Shade’ or ‘No Shade’; He’s Fit, a parody of fitness shows starring lap dancer Greg McKeon as he competes in flex battles against Instagram hotties; and Hot T, a bi-monthly gossip show with Julie Goldman and Brandy Howard (from Bravo’s The People’s Couch) breaking down the hot topics of the week.   A new advice show, Hey Qween Can I Axe You A Question?, will premiere later this season.

“We’re thrilled to bring back Hey Qween! for a fourth season,” says’s Susan Wrenn. “Jonny and Lady Red are both so talented and passionate about what they do. Their creativity inspires everyone here at”

Look for Jonny McGovern and Lady Red Couture this summer when they host Pride Festivals and bring their Hey Qween! nightclub show to cities across the country.

The fourth season of Hey Qween! begins airing February 15th on

A two-time Emmy Award nominee, Rosenzweig served as SVP of Here TV for ten years where he produced over two hundred hours of television including She’s Living For This, a show that starred Vine.  “Nobody is going to tell our stories like we will. While our visibility has increased enormously over the last decade with the launch of several LGBT television networks, it is essential that the community have an online space to call our own.  A destination where we can go to find like-minded artists and feel the power of the collective.”

While gaySVTVworld draws inspiration from a traditional television model, it also presents a modern digital age spin with all shows under-seven minutes long.  “We’re offering short content so people can view several episodes in the same amount of time as one traditional TV show,” explains Vine.  “Maybe you only have five free minutes on your way to work or during a lunch break.  That’s enough time to catch a hilarious episode of Fashion Puhleez on your smart phone!”

The network will kick off its first season with a slate of eight programs, releasing daily, beginning with Sunday’s Sherry and the Greek, an original talk series starring Vine and Chris Semers, discussing a variety of fun topics and performing skits, characters, and musical numbers.

On Monday, queer notables share their pop culture picks on EduGAYtion.   Then Tuesday, The Rachel Zoe Show meets Project Runway in Fashion Puhleez, with lead players in the beauty industry discussing fashion, club couture and styling.

House of Mimosa presents The Anita & Gina Marie Show, a comedic show that chronicles the daily antics of two women as they cause mayhem throughout Astoria, Queens (singing out – or rather, airing out – all their dirty laundry) gets viewers over hump day.   Then its Throwback Thursdays with Pickles, a look back at a public access show that offers a glimpse into the gay, downtown art and nightlife scene of New York in the nineties.

Celebrate the end of the workweek with The Flames of Hell’s Kitchen, a telanovela about the life of Sherry Vine, her manager Gloria, assistant Busted and sexy Latino boyfriend, Diego.  In the first season, Sherry wins big, loses everything, slips back into a life of drugs, and faces an intervention. The show stars David Serrano, Busted, Patty McKeever and Al McKeever.

Finally, on Saturday, it’s movie night as gaySVTVworld presents The SVTV Short Film Fest, an online festival dedicated to spotlighting the very best LGBTQ filmmakers from around the world.  Each week is a new short film along with interviews from the filmmakers and special bonus features.

In addition, What’s In Your Purse?, a hilarious two-minute segment featuring Vine cornering nightlife celebrities and forcing them to reveal the contents of their bags, will run throughout the week.

“We knew launching a network was an ambitious endeavor but there are so many things we didn’t think of,” admits Vine.  “Josh and I and our amazing team have literally been working every day on gaySVTVworld for almost a year now.”

“So much of that time has been spent on brainstorming ideas, reaching out to people we wanted to work with and deciding on a slate we felt confident about,” continues Rosenzweig.  “We have several shows that are in various stages of development. Our intention is to continue to keep rolling out new programs, music videos and comedy sketches.”

Houston Gets ‘Shunned’ Again By RuPaul Drag Race

RuPaul's Drag Race - Season 8 Queens

Mama Ru is coming for you, unless you live in Houston! RuPaul’s Drag Race is returning with a court of queens so ingenious, a competition so unpredictable and a judges’ panel so packed with talent, you’ll be seeing stars…. sorta.. with the Houston smog.

Sadly you will not see a ‘Drag Star’ from Houston this season. Once again, the popular ‘Drag Race’ did not pick a contestant from the fourth largest city in America.

This will be the eighth season that Houston was passed over for the opportunity to parade our talent to the world.

Last year several LGBT+ venues spent large amounts of money to bring RuPaul Drag Race contenders to Houston, ‘parading’ these talented gals to our dedicated community.

Maybe Houston is a better city to showcase then produce? Highly doubtful, as Houston’s drag community has been considered one of the best in the nation! Maybe Houston will have better luck next year??!!

Regardless, the new season is filled with talent from around the country, including the spicy Kim Chi from Chicago, Naysha Lopez, and bizarre “fashion clown” Thorgy Thor from Brooklyn.

You’ll see the 12 new queens vying for the title of America’s best fake crier.

The premiere celebrates the 100th episode and 100th queen on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9PM ET/PT. Off with their wigs! You can get to know the contestants better in this little meet-and-greet video.
