(Houston, TX) The F.A.C.E. Awards is pleased to announce the official nominees for 2015. The voting opens tomorrow (November 6,2015) on-line.  (Cast your vote here) On December 7, 2015 our Heroes’ and Icons’ will be honored for their efforts through out the year at the F.A.C.E. Awards.

F.A.C.E. Awards stands for First Achievers in Community Excellence. Each year the L.G.B.T. community and its allies work hard in pursuit of special causes. Each year a volunteer works hard, a politician gets a law passed; a new business opens its doors to the community. Maybe it’s a photographer, a drag performer, a bartender, or a hair stylist – they are all doing their part in Houston seeking equality for all. The F.A.C.E Awards puts a face to that person and makes sure they are honored. They become someone to look up to, and it lets others praise their achievements. It allows our youth an opportunity to see that hard work and dedication pays off, that doing the right thing gets you rewarded.

We also remember the Heroes’ and Icons’ before us. The ever so many that fought with blood and tears for a cause, for a human right. We remember our fallen L.G.B.T. community members, that were our friends, neighbors, everyone we lost this past year. They are honored today as our Heroes’’ and Icons.

The F.A.C.E. Awards is now in its fourth year of honoring our Heroes’ and Icons’ and celebrates with the Houston L.G.B.T. community, our allies and the entire city of Houston. We take pride in our diversely cultivated city, and we take pride in our citizens today. We as a community are able to look to those special people that dedicate their free time, that offer their last dollar to someone in need. We celebrate those people. We celebrate our Heroes’ and Icons’ with the F.A.C.E. Awards
