Montrose Mining Company Sold To Developer

(Montrose) — One of Houston’s oldest LGBTQ bars has been sold according to Harris County land records. The Montrose Mining Company (located at 805 Pacific St.) was owned by iconic LGBTQ nightclub guru Charles Armstrong. It closed in 2016.

The new owner, Fred Sharifi, has been busy buying up properties all across Montrose. At last count, he owns five different properties. Of these five properties, one includes the land where the former LGBTQ bar Meteor was once located. His recent purchase, Baba Yega, sits behind the former Mining Company.

Sharifi is the mastermind developer behind the new mix-use space called the ‘Fairview District.’
