About Marquee Texas
Marquee Texas is a directory of the places where Texans go to look and listen: museums, stage theaters, movie palaces, drive-ins and music halls.
We list museums, galleries, stage theaters, performing arts centers, concert halls, music venues, movie theaters and drive-ins across Texas that have an open-data record. For each venue we show its city and county, type, the year it opened (and closed, for many historic cinemas), seating capacity, architect and National Register status when known.
Records come from Wikidata (public domain, CC0); many historic cinema records there were built from community research such as Cinema Treasures. County outlines are from Natural Earth. Distances and “nearby venues” are calculated from coordinates.
Marquee Texas is independent and not a ticketing site. Hours, programs and even whether a venue still operates change — check with the venue before you go.
